I love to capture the beauty of my tulips in the springtime, when we're blessed with vibrant, pink blooms. Each flower is so perfect and unique. I love how the petals open up towards the sky, receiving the nourishing and playful sunlight.
It's easy to think of these flowers as fragile. After all, their flowers and leaves are only visible for a short time. But this plant is hardy throughout the year. After the plant flowers in Springtime, the spent leaves provide food as new bulbs begin to grow out of the mother bulb. In the Winter, the plant rests below the ground, safe from cold and frost. As the ground warms, the plant begins to grow again, preparing once more for their beautiful flowers to reach up towards the sun. And when those flowers emerge each year, I'm ready with my paintbrush.
